In 1954, St. Jude Parish of Sinajana was a flourishing community within the vicariate of Agana. The increasing number of young people needing instructions in their Catholic faith augmented the desirability of a Catholic school within the parish. In 1955, in response to the invitation of the late Bishop Apolinaris Baumgartner to operate and to staff a school and a health center, the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration from LaCrosse, Wisconsin, prepared themselves to meet the challenge of the Bishop’s request. Under the leadership of the pastor, Father Raymond Demers, OFM Cap., the parish of St. Jude came alive. Land was procured and cleared, prayers and sacrifices were offered; the parish response was enthusiastic!
Buenas yan Hafa Adai BBMCS Obispo Family! As we embark on School Year 2023-2024, we acknowledge and give thanks to God for the ability to serve the local, regional, and international community by providing a rigorous academic curriculum, diverse and competitive athletic opportunities, a great exposure to Fine Arts, opportunities for international exchange students, and most importantly, a rich spiritual formation in Catholic Christianity.
This year we are happy to roll out the Obispos Fine Arts Academy, an after school Music, Theater, and Art enrichment activity led by select teachers from the Obispo faculty and from the local community. Please standby for the specific offerings available each academic quarter.
Dear Obispo Families and Community,
Though this school year is projected to be different from any other, together, we will continue our tradition of providing Catholic education to our students and quality service to our families. I am truly honored to continue leading the Obispo community alongside Dr. Rita D. Duenas, President for the 2020-2021 school year. We have accomplished so much as a school community, and we will continue to do so. This new learning model does not need to be a barrier, but instead will serve as an opportunity to change our mindset as it relates to the delivery of instruction and engaging students in learning.
